LIKE, NOT FOUR-YEAR-INSTITUTION. WE'RE TALKING GRADUATE SHIT HERE PEOPLE. MY LITTLE COMMUNITY COLLEGE IS BECOMING A STATE UNIVERSITY. HARRISBURG STATE UNIVERSITY. HOLY FUCKING SHIT. NINE DORMS. SEVEN BUILDINGS. FUCK!

school of business! school of psychology! school of comm arts and journalism! tech school! nursing school! music school! SCHOOL OF AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDIES!!!

how in the name of fuck did i never hear about this? is this THAT new?! it's going up in 09! what in god's name!

all right: i do think it's good that they're installing a real college in harrisburg because it needs it. they have satellite campuses up the ass. they need their own school. the area needs it. if you're from the surrounding school districts, it'll be great to have an option that isn't shipp if they don't want to go private with messiah or dickenson. it's a very good thing.

but enveloping hacc is dangerous. there are a lot of people in central PA who sucked their way through high school or who just can't do the SAT thing. or who just can't do the college thing. it's easy to go to hacc and have a job.

i'm so weirded out by this. i'm so weirded out that i had such a strong reaction to reading this. i found out about it from wikipedia, after reading about the 8-screen movie theatre going in down the street from here (score)!

just...whoa.

so about my day.

i hopped out of bed around eleven and walked over to the mexican restaurant down the street. i enjoyed nachos for breakfast. nachos deluxe. i then made my way around town, admiring the moss-covered stone buildings and old hotels and having a nice time. i found a comic book store with a batman shirt i am SO GETTING and LO! the grocery store is extremely accessable. i wasn't sure how easy it'd be to walk to. but i did it, and i got some tea. peach melba tea and a tazo sampler. tomorrow, sushi is on the agenda. SUSHI IS THE AGENDA.

then i came home and saw this HSU business WHAAAAAAAAATTTT. THAT BLOWS MY MIND.
