IF I WERE GAY
stephen lynch

here we are, dear old friend
you and i, drunk again
laughs have been had and tears have been shed
maybe the whiskey's gone to my head?
but if i were gay, i would give you my heart
and if i were gay, you'd be my work of art
and if i were gay, we would swim in romance
but i'm not gay
so get your hand out of my pants
it's not that i don't care (i do!)
i just don't see myself in you
another time, another scene
i'd be right behind you...
...if you know what i mean
but if i were gay, i would give you my soul
and if i were gay, i would give you my whole being
and if i were gay, we would tear down the walls
but i'm not gay
so won't you stop cupping my...hand
we've never hugged, we've never kissed
i've never been intimite with your fist
you have opened brand new doors
get over here and drop your drawers!

*le sigh*...quite possibly the greatest thing rachel ever did for me was play me that song. out of anything i've ever heard, i WISH like mad i'd written that. that and "stairway to heaven" and i'd never have to work again.

oh, the world is getting to be right again!!! i'm ecstatic - tomorrow, a friend of my mother's whome i like is taking me for a bit to talk to someone about my writing, then le clare fling, and later this month is brittany's tattoo! and in november, JACK! - i'm thrilled to bits ^-^ OOOOO, and my aunt found the mysterious disappearing purse and sent it by quickie-mail.

later this next week - rachel, sara, brittany, & manda - you're my property for an evening. just thought i'd let you know ~

if anybody should ask i'm going to a seminar

sensitive heart, you're doomed from the start
(& etc)

anybody can be just like me, obviously.
not too many can be like you, fortunately.
