PEOPLE ARE EMPHATICALLY DUMB!

WARNING: opinions ahoy, and if you aren't a tolerant individual i discourage you from reading on.

FROM BUST MAGAZINE; a 22-year-old florida woman with autism, cerebral palsy, and profound mental retardation became pregnant after she was raped in a state-run group home, and her doctors have said that she could die in childbirth. so why did governor jeb bush try to block her right to abort? the woman, known as "j.d.s.", is unable to speak, and she has no family to represent her interests, so a judge appointed her a legal guardian. but jeb bush denied j.d.s. a guardian - someone who could recommend that she exercise her legal right to abort - unless the fetus was represented by a guardian as well.
jeb bush's move to appoint a fetal guardian is not an isolated outrage, it's part of an organizes effort by anti-choice groups and many republican law makers to re-define fetuses as "people" and grant them legal protection, which would make abortion a crime. (also look out for the unborn victims of violence act, which was recently renamed after murder victim laci peterson's unborn son, connor; it, too, seeks to redefine a fetus as a person with legal rights.) the crime here is that j.d.s. is not able to get an abortion because she is disabled - women who don't need guardians don't need to fight against the governor over fetal rights in order to abort. not to mention the crime that was committed against j.d.s. last time florida was "guarding" her interests. maybe if she had been a zygote, someone would have stuck up for her.

WANT TO BE PRO-LIFE? THEN IF YOU DO NOT WANT AN ABORTION - DON'T GET ONE. WHAT OTHERS DO DOES NOT EFFECT YOU!

i don't like to rant about my opinion on issues such as these terrible often, but this just pissed me OFF like you would not believe.
