CLARE IS HERE on a surprise visit! she's headed to gambia for a while, so this was massively in order. we've been having a remarkable time drinking chianti, reading each other poetry, talking about theory and grad school and watching "the mighty boosh" and "frisky dingo," although presently she is very, very hung over and sick. i got her ginger ale and she's tucked in watching "ghost whisperer," so hopefully she feels better soon.

most of my amazon order came! i'm still waiting for defiance and ghost dance.

a norwegian relative of mine died and my dad is going to see about his inheritence. i wanted very badly to go with him but my brother is because he's able to pay his way (it's astronomically expensive and there isn't any way i can get that money at the moment). i was pretty disappointed to hear, but now, with my mom's help, i'm planning a trip (making out a budget, scouring for hotels, etc) next year to go to cannes! since now it would be absurd not to take that opportunity now. i am so happy!
